Engaged: Rene & Andrea

How did you two meet?
A: We met backstage at Bass Concert Hall. He worked in lighting and I was the receptionist, so he would see me on his way in/out of work. It turns out he even requested a change in his theatre assignment from the B.Iden Payne theatre (which was across the street to Bass Concert Hall) just so he would be able to see me.

R: We met at work! We both were student employees at the regional theater at UT. She was a receptionist and I worked in lighting, and after I met her I made it a point to find legitimate reasons to pass by her desk as often as possible.

Describe the proposal.
A: For the proposal, it was on our "One" Year anniversary, Leap Day, and he had me take off the morning from work. He took me to breakfast, and then we drove to Mayfield Park. We walked around the park a little, found a secluded trail, and he said some sweet things in Spanish and got down on his knee and asked!

R: I was so nervous. We took the morning off work and got breakfast, and it looked like it was going to rain, an 18 wheeler almost hit the car at an intersection, and at Mayfield there were a bunch of kids running around all over the place. So lots of things tried to get in the way! But I found a secluded spot in some trees and got to a knee and asked her in Spanish to be with me forever. I think. It was so fast!

What do you love most about each other?
A: I guess what I love most about him is how ridiculous we can be together, especially when making funny noises and stuff. Oh, we also trade foot rubs every night, and he lets me pop his toes.

R: She's the force that keeps stars in their trajectory. She is the rhyme and reason of the universe, of my life. She's the space between the lines of poetry, and stanza after stanza she's always been there for me. She's never out of place, she is strong and confident wherever we are. It was that confidence that attracted me to her in the first place, and every time I see it, it amazes me. She's kind and patient and resilient; and she makes me want to be those things. There is no universe where I'm not in love with her.
